John Smith is a multidisciplinary visual artist and community arts advocate with over 15 years of experience in arts education and nonprofit leadership. Holding an MFA in Visual Arts from Emily Carr University, John has exhibited his work across Canada and the U.S. and is passionate about creating accessible spaces for creative expression. As Chair of the Board, he leads with a collaborative approach and a strong commitment to excellence in the arts. John currently teaches at a local arts college and mentors emerging artists through various mentorship programs.
Dr. Jesse Desrosiers is an art historian, curator, and professor whose work explores contemporary Indigenous art, cultural memory, and visual sovereignty. He earned his PhD in Art History from Concordia University and has curated exhibitions for major galleries and museums across North America. Jesse is a sought-after speaker and advisor on standardizing museum practices and curation. As Vice Chair, he supports strategic development and community partnerships, helping the Alliance broaden its reach and relevance across communities.
Jane Robinson is a nonprofit strategist and financial consultant with deep roots in the cultural sector. She earned her MBA from the University of British Columbia and previously served as Director of Operations at an urban contemporary gallery. Jane specializes in building sustainable financial frameworks for creative organizations and is passionate about expanding funding access for community initiatives. As Treasurer, she oversees the Alliance’s financial health and long-term planning, ensuring resources are aligned with the organization's mission and impact.
Julia Kim is an experienced arts administrator with a background in political science and community programming. She has worked with cultural organizations, school boards, and municipal agencies to support arts education and public engagement initiatives. As Secretary, she ensures effective communication and accurate documentation of board activities, while also contributing to the Alliance’s outreach and event planning.
Tara Singh is a public artist and designer with a BFA from OCAD University. She has worked on numerous large-scale mural and public art projects in collaboration with municipalities, schools, and design firms. Tara specializes in creative placemaking and visual storytelling, and she contributes a practical design perspective to the board’s planning and community initiatives.
Raymond Beckett is a playwright and producer with a long-standing career in theatre and performing arts. His original works have been produced at festivals and theatres across the country, and he has served as a mentor and creative consultant for new play development. Raymond is passionate about supporting Canadian theatre and brings valuable insight into program development and artistic partnerships.
